| Description: |
The Pennsylvania Real Estate Academy was developed by the Governor's Center for Local Government Services in 2007 as part of their Community and Economic Development Training Series, and is designed for public and private sector individuals involved in the development and redevelopment process in the Commonwealth. The Academy encompasses multiple sessions throughout the year and will begin this year with "Fundamentals of Economic Development Finance".
The speakers, all known experts in their field, will provide attendees at each session with tools and skills to understand the entire process of real estate development, including the basics, as well as focused issues like financing and community-based initiatives.
In addition to the main speaker at each session, professionals from communities in the Commonwealth will make the important connections between the materials being presented and the actual practices in Pennsylvania.
This seminar will help attendees understand the variety of development finance tools available, from bonds, tax credits and TIF, to federal financing programs, RLFs, and access to capital lending resources.
The Fundamentals Course is based on CDFA's Practitioner's Guide to Economic Development Finance, the only comprehensive resource dedicated to building and utilizing the development finance toolbox.
